From the extensive collection of Frenchman Emile Arbes comes these images of Luis Ocaña's personal Gazelle from the Tour de France of 1977. Notice the Spaniards use of a Zeus 2000 component group.

Luis Ocaña's 1977 Gazelle

Right: Just two cable clips holding the rear brake housing in place.

Also no 'Gazelle' in the green field on the seat tube.

Left: Painted Frisol lettering instead of Gazelle head badge.

Right: Not all Zeus. Campagnolo chrome steel Record headset.

Note the Zeus fork crown, further evidence of the brief relationship between Gazelle and the Spanish component maker in the seventies.

Left: Definitely not the standard Bocama lugs seen on production Champion Mondial. But what they are I don't know.

Brooks Professional leather saddle on a TdF pro racer's bike!

This is indeed the original saddle.

Left: No crank bolt dust caps, as always in the pro peleton.

54T big chainring?

Right: Interesting detail here. This type of butterfly brake bridge is not common on regular production Champion Mondial.

Left: Nor is this type of chain stay reinforcement.
