While this frame is a little young to be included on the Gazelle pages, it is unique enough to make it. Racer Hans Dral of the Netherlands had it custom built for time trial use. It was acquired by Jim with the help of two Bikeforum members, Lotek and S70rguy.

1999 Super Tall Gazelle

70cm seat tube, center to top. The unusual frame geometry creates multiple strengthening triangles with great stiffness.

Built with Reynolds 531 All Terrain tube set, a slightly heavier double butted version of the standard 531. This is a sensible choice in such a large frame.

Being a 1999 this is the latest example of a frame with the 'Champion Mondial' model designation I have seen. Check out the many cool braze-ons and other details, showing the great experience of Gazelle's lugged steel frame building shop. At this time we were at the culmination (or some would say: the overdue exit) of lugged steel.
