The Long Climb, 5.8.
Sonja liebacking up one of the many cracks leading steeply
up from the top of the Mummy Crack. A bit stiff for a 5.7,
but so are those sevens at Tahquitz, we've learned. Above
this the Vogel topo shows a .6 R slab that we didn't climb,
nor found, which is just fine. Then came the puzzling moves
around the so called Downward Jutting Block, where the key
is that little...oh, never mind. The very top of the Long
Climb gets a bit confusing, or at least it was for us. We
ended up doing a very steep, somewhat loose corner in the
nine realm, that was alright. |
