Dihedral
Wall, 1990
The shadow of the setting sun is creeping up the wall, as I aid up
more left facing cracks. I remember this moment clearly, the colors,
silence and fantastic exposure. Peter, today a professor of mathematics
at the University of Copenhagen, sits motionless at the belay, engrossed
in a complex paper of quantum physics. Once when I asked him about
his studies, he sighed, knowing that I, a lowly college dodger, would
benefit little from a throrough answer. After one of Peters signature
pauses, he finally disclosed it was related to the question why the
big lumps in a granola jar always floats on top. I was left even more
puzzled than before. |
