Zodiac,
1989.
Lionel Clay in good form on the only pitch we approached with free
climbing in mind. We planned for him, the vastly better free climber
of us, to quickly lead it so he brought a pair of shoes for the job.
The gathering clouds of that afternoons torrential downpour can be
seen above. It started at the exact moment we heaved ourselves over
the rim to flat ground, and lasted for 4 days. |
